What I have been doing lately...

On Sunday I spent the afternoon winding skeins of yarn into balls using a ball-winder and swift. It was very relaxing...

Some of this is handspun, but the majority is what I have received from Joslyn's Fiber Farm Sock of the Month Club Posted by Hello

The ball of cream wool at the middle back is the merino handspun for my Kiri shawl... {Join the KAL}
I have reached Row 31 for the second time. On Thursday night I got to this row and when I looked at my knitting, I realised that one of the first two leaves wasn't right... The merino frogs just as easily as it knits up, so I am glad I didn't use the Kid Silk Haze that Polly used when she made hers.

I have been a member of Joslyn's Fiber Farm Clubs - Sock, Shawl and Scarf - since last April, but have only just started knitting any of the kits.

I am making a pair of fraternal socks for my sister, Sherree, from the August pattern. The pattern is Fiber Trends "Ribs on the Side", designed by Joanne Clark. The wool Joslyn supplied is a wonderful acid yellow, called 'Sunny Yellow', and a great pinky-red, called 'Sherbet'. I started knitting the toe that Joanne designed, but it is far too long for Sherree's foot, so I have frogged it and replaced it with the usual toe I use for cuff-down socks. This has decreases every second row. I will see Sherree tomorrow, so will make sure this toe is fine before I graft the stitches together.

This is the too-long toe I frogged... Posted by Hello

I have the first sock of Joslyn's own design, called "Totem Socks", on the needles. The wool she sent with this pattern is called 'Bird of Paradise' and the colours really evoke the richness of these flowers. These socks are for me. I knitted socks over the past 12 months mainly for my family and a pair for a friend of mine, so it will be nice to finally knit the Club Socks for me.

I love the fibres that Joslyn has included with all three Clubs. There is an incredibly soft Alpaca for the October Scarf Club, as well as some lovely mohair for a lace Moebius scarf, another Fiber Trends pattern.

Thank you, Ladies ... I haven't been knitting very much this week because Sherree taped the past few months of Stargate SG-1 for me, and I have watched 18 episodes since Monday night... I'll need to get back to the shawl or Sherree's second sock tomorrow night.

Tracy, I hope you join Joslyn's Sock Club. The fibres and colours are wonderful.
